Town / Base Villages
If you’ve only skied at resorts with tiny towns attached to them, Rossland will knock you over. This Goldrush Era “little city” with its wide, friendly main street, stone buildings, and unique shops and cafes will take you back in time. Make sure you stop for a snowy statue selfie with Olaus Jeldness, RED Mountain’s patron saint, and then tuck into the full-sized gourmet grocery store to gather ingredients for that one show-off meal you have up your sleeve. (For our American friends wondering where the wine and beer are, they are a few doors down at the liquor store. It’s the bleep-in’ government, eh?)
The Mountain
At RED, we focus on what matters—unforgettable skiing and a down-to-earth mountain vibe, without the fluff. Stay steps from the lifts in a stylish, no-fuss hostel, a cozy slopeside condo, or a charming boutique hotel. We might not be great at math, but our stats speak for themselves: nearly 3,000 vertical feet, 300 inches of annual snowfall, in-bounds cat-skiing available by the run, and access to five distinct peaks. From legendary tree skiing and wide-open groomers to deep powder stashes and Ikon Pass access—not to mention Canada’s only on-mountain taco truck—this once-hidden gem is now firmly on the radar as one of North America’s must-ride destinations.
